The College of Health, Education, and Social Transformation will award six College of Health, Education, and Social Transformation Excellence Awards in August of 2022.  Each awardee will receive $500 and a recognition plaque.  Four awards will be made to faculty in four main categories: teaching, research, service, and diversity/equity/inclusion (DEI). Two awards will be presented to outstanding Exempt and Non-Exempt staff employees.

Faculty Awards Categories (1. Teaching, 2. Research, 3. Service, and 4. DEI):

Each department or school may submit to the dean no more than one nominee for each category listed above.  Each department or school may nominate four candidates, one for each award category.  Each department or school should determine its nomination and selection process and define what constitutes superior performance in each category listed above, but input from faculty and professional staff is expected. No faculty may receive the same award more than once. Department Heads and School Directors are responsible for submitting a single-page nomination supporting narrative for the person selected in each category. Help in writing these nomination letters may be solicited from the nominees and/or the nominating individual/s. This means that the total nomination packet from each department may not exceed four pages (one page for each nomination).

Staff Award (Exempt & Non-Exempt): 

Each unit that employs one or more staff persons may submit a nomination letter for the staff award to the dean.  Here too, nominations to the dean should include a one-page nomination narrative for an Exempt and Non-Exempt from the department head.

Final Selection: 

The dean will select one recipient for each award from the department nominations.  The dean need not equalize the number of awards among departments in any given year.
